Phil Sandland

Phil is a Senior Manager in the forensic services team based in our Birmingham office. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Prior to joining the firm, Phil trained and worked in the national forensic accounting practice of a large international advisory firm, qualifying in 2019. 

Phil works across the public, not-for-profit and private sectors to help organisations proactively manage economic crime related risks, as well as to respond to incidents of economic crime and misconduct. Phil specialises in financial and non-financial investigations, fraud risk management and advising clients on their whistleblowing frameworks. He has extensive experience in conducting investigations into allegations of fraud, accounting irregularities, HR and wider misconduct issues, managing these processes on an end-to end basis.  Phil also has experience delivering forensic audits, post-award contract reviews and fraud risk management assignments, including maturity assessments, the development of policies, procedures and training. He also has experience in a wide range of other forensic accounting projects including commercial dispute resolution, loss of profits and professional negligence litigation, royalty audits, and matrimonial disputes. Phil also has a background in external audit.
